Prayers are answered

Sorry if this post is too church-y for some, but I truly feel blessed.

As some know, we went to Seattle at the end of April for some testing for Aaron. Specifically, we went to have his learning disabilities, if he had any, officially diagnosed. He has struggled with his math classes and had other difficulties at school. He was tested by a doctor here in the Tri-Cities, but this doctor only confirmed a prior diagnosis of ADHD. Nothing about his reading or math abilities. This made us doubt that we would find anything new out, but we went ahead with it. Not an inexpensive venture, but each time we prayed for a solution to his school troubles, this was our answer.

Today, Aaron went back for the "results show" as I call it. He has dyslexia (I thought as much before) and of course the ADHD. Along with those two, while he scores in the superior range for everything else, his math processing skills are at 16%. Yeah, you could say that is a learning disability.

This is such a validation for us. Those who know Aaron know how smart he is and it has been so frustrating for him at school. He can do the math they ask him, only he's figured out ways that he knows how to do it.

So now the fight begins to get the accommodations that he needs. Schools don't like doing this, but we're going to make sure we get what we want and what we need.
