Men at work, and play

Aaron has spent the last two days detailing the cars. We're talking DETAILS - he's removed everything he can, hosed and scrubbed and vacuumed and they are gorgeous. Naturally, it looked like fun, for a while. Here's Henry, scrubbing away with his toothbrush. Love that halo of golden curls he's got.

And it did get boring after a while, especially when Aaron wouldn't let them do the spraying. So we got out the bikes. Here's James and his awesome refurbished bike. Notice how he matches, shoes and all? Yeah, that's all James.
Love this blue-eyed boy and his great smile. He loves his bike - Aaron did a great job on it so that James wasn't getting a "hand-me-down" when William got his bigger bike.
And there's my Will on his Spiderman bike. He's getting faster and we're working with Will and Laurel so we can take off their training wheels by the end of the summer. It sure is nice to have so much space, so much FLAT space for them to practice on. Laurel would get better, only she sleeps in and she'd rather be playing with her new friends in the neighborhood. We have a neighborhood FULL of little girls. And yes, that is my lawn. We don't want to cut down the flowers because they are just buzzing with bees every day. You try and explain that one to Laurel Bee. Good luck.

Hope you're having a great summer! We've had three hot days, but a thunderstorm rolled in last night, and now things are a bit chilly again. But we've got Matchbox cars to play with, sewing and homework for me, lessons for Laurel and William. So we're busy folks! We head to Seattle (via Kennewick) for William's dental appointment - oh boy!

Memorial Day

Yes, I'm a smidge late on this post. I've got a long list of excuses though - and not having internet is one of them. We're in Moscow, back online, and busy busy busy.

It was our last Memorial Day in Seattle, we were moving the next day, but we had to do the flags at Washelli Cemetery one more time. For those still in the area - do this next year with your kids. It's a great opportunity to show them how to be patriotic and how to be grateful for this wonderful nation that we have.

This year, James got to help too and he was so excited to carry a flag around.



Henry got to hold them for just a couple of minutes - there were a lot of people there this year, so we only got two bundles, but that's okay with us!



These cannons are from the U.S.S. Constitution - yep, "Ol' Ironsides." Will was fascinated with them and desperately wanted to climb all over them.

Life is good here in Moscow. We love our little house and our backyard. We're putting in a sandbox today for our little diggers. It's been cooler, but we've got some sunshine for the next couple of days. The kids love riding up and down the sidewalk out front and William will be getting a new bicycle this week as well. Laurel is signed up for the summer reading program at the library and is reading up a storm. LOVE seeing it, but she does stay up late because she wants to finish her book. Don't know where she gets that from . . .

I'm sewing up a storm and will be posting pictures of the finished quilt tops in a few days. My summer classes (boo-hoo!) start on Monday, so I will have to do some work in that regard every day, but it shouldn't be all too difficult.
