4th of July happenings

We had a great time at Gran and Opa's house for the fourth of July - it is Opa's birthday, after all. Laurel and Will played in the pool and garden. In fact, when we arrived, I headed straight inside to drop off food. Laurel was with me and Will, I assumed was with Aaron. Well, Aaron came in, and no Will! I ran outside and found him scarfing strawberries in the garden. This boy is mine alright - he picks them all and if they are the wrong color, drops them on the ground.
They had a "tea party" with Opa and the hose - kind of fun. We churned ice cream - Laurel served the all-important purpose of sitting on top while we all took a turn at the crank. It was super tasty! All that playing made Mr. Will hungry - he ate two drumsticks and we snapped some photos of him trucking around with his chicken bone. It ended up in the pool, but he did his best before that. Then pie, brownies and ice cream cones and BATH! When it was a little later we did some sparklers, but those weren't such a great hit.
We had promised fireworks to Laurel, so even though she fell asleep on the way to Overlook Park, we woke her up in time. She liked them pretty well, but got bored after about 10 minutes, so we got to leave early and beat the traffic. Next year we'll try to be closer for them - they are a bit more fascinating overhead than at a distance.
Now we're getting ready for our trip to Boise - hooray!
